We started our school in 2006 under a franchise.
We left the franchise and started our own school, Insurance School of Texas in 2016. We wrote our own study manuals and put together our own practice exams.
Both of which are the most Texas state exam-specific materials available.

Tracie Lampson
Co-Owner, CEO & Main Instructor
Tracie Lampson is the founder of Lampson Retirement Solutions, Inc. and co-owner of LS Retirement Solutions, Insurance School of Texas, WTF Podcast, and LS Metals & Coins. With more than 20 years in the insurance industry, Tracie has built her career around making complicated insurance and financial concepts easier to understand.
She has made numerous television appearances, co-authored three books, and received recognition from leading insurance carriers throughout her career. In 2025, Tracie and Rahnie Sandhu acquired the Insurance School of Texas, combining Tracie’s insurance expertise and unique teaching style with Rahnie’s extensive business and financial background.
As ISOT’s CEO and main instructor, Tracie brings real-world experience into the classroom and teaches insurance the way people actually learn it—clear, visual, practical, and memorable.
Rahnie Sandhu
Co-Owner & Chief Financial Officer
Rahnie Sandhu is co-owner of LS Retirement Solutions, Insurance School of Texas, WTF Podcast, and LS Metals & Coins, and serves as Chief Financial Officer across their companies.
Rahnie holds an MBA from the University of Houston and brings decades of experience in business strategy, finance, operations, and growth. Known as the team’s business and math guru, Rahnie provides the financial strategy and operational expertise that keeps their companies moving forward.
In 2025, Rahnie and Tracie acquired the Insurance School of Texas, bringing together their complementary strengths and a shared vision for doing insurance education differently.
Together, Tracie and Rahnie bring more than 75 years of combined business and insurance experience to ISOT.
She brings the insurance. He brings the business. Together, they built a better way to learn it.
MaKenzie Smith
Senior Director of Marketing & Operations
MaKenzie Smith joined Lampson Retirement Solutions, Inc. in 2022 and has since become an integral part of nearly every aspect of the companies’ operations. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Houston and is licensed in both Life & Health and Property & Casualty insurance.
From marketing, branding, operations, and client support to insurance education and special projects, MaKenzie works hands-on across Lampson Retirement Solutions, Inc. dba LS Retirement Solutions, Insurance School of Texas, WTF Podcast, and LS Metals & Coins. She has also served as host of the WTF Podcast, helping shape its personality and presence from behind the microphone as well as behind the scenes.
As Tracie and Rahnie’s go-to person, MaKenzie has played an essential role in turning ideas into action and keeping the many moving pieces of their businesses moving in the same direction. Her combination of education, insurance knowledge, creativity, leadership, and operational experience makes her an invaluable part of the team.
Holland Davis
School Operations & Marketing Coordinator
Holland Davis joined the team in May 2026, bringing a background in marketing and a Marketing degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. As one of the newest members of the team, Holland supports the day-to-day operations of Lampson Retirement Solutions, Inc. dba LS Retirement Solutions and Insurance School of Texas.
At ISOT, Holland works directly with students throughout their experience with the school, helping with scheduling, communication, class coordination, and everyday student needs. She also assists Lampson Retirement Solutions, Inc. dba LS Retirement Solutions with client scheduling, including coordinating annual reviews, while helping manage the day-to-day communications that keep the offices connected and running smoothly.
Holland is currently learning the many moving pieces behind the companies and working closely with Tracie, Rahnie, and MaKenzie as she develops a deeper understanding of the insurance, education, and retirement businesses. With her educational background in marketing, her role is designed to continue evolving into greater involvement in marketing, branding, and business development as she grows with the organization.
As the newest addition to a team where everyone wears more than one hat, Holland has quickly become an important part of keeping students, clients, and the team connected.
