Step 1: Meet the Basic Requirements

Step 4: Pass the Pre-Licensing Exam

Once you have completed your pre-licensing courses, you need to pass a pre-licensing exam. This exam is administered by PearsonVue on behalf of the Texas Department of Insurance and covers the material you learned in your pre-licensing courses. You need to score at least 70% to pass the exam.

Step 5: Apply for Your License

After passing the pre-licensing exam, you need to apply for your insurance license. The application can be submitted online through the Sircon website. You will need to provide personal information, education and work history, and any criminal history. You also need to pay the licensing fee, which varies depending on the type of insurance license you are applying for.

Step 6: Complete Continuing Education

Once you have obtained your insurance license, you need to complete continuing education courses to maintain your licensure. These courses are required every few years and cover changes in the insurance industry, new regulations, and sales techniques.
