Do I get a textbook?
Yes! In-person students have the option to receive a physical textbook on the first day of class or have one shipped to them. Webinar students receive a PDF download before class begins.
What’s included in the course?
For In-Person and Zoom Classes: you get state-approved materials, live instruction, and help preparing for your license exam. Some packages also include practice exams and review webinars.
What do I need to bring to class?
Bring your textbook, a pen, water, and a jacket (classrooms can get cold). You may also bring lunch or purchase snacks onsite.
Do I have to bring my lunch?
Yes, we recommend bringing your lunch. There are also restaurants nearby if you’d prefer to leave during the break.

Before applying, you must pass the state licensing exam. If you apply before passing, you will be required to:
- Submit a new application after you pass the exam.
- Pay the application fee again.
Steps to apply:
- Complete your fingerprints.
- Go to TDI’s online initial application and fingerprint portal to begin.
- Apply online through one of the following:
- Sircon
- National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR)
- Submit your application within one year of passing your exam.
If you miss this deadline, you will be required to retake the exam.

How do I access my PDF textbook?
Please follow these steps to access your digital textbook:

What’s the passing score for the practice exam?
You must score at least 85% to pass. We set this bar slightly higher than the state exam to help you feel confident.
Most students who score above 85% on the practice exam are ready for the real test!
🕒 Be sure to set aside about two hours to complete the quiz in one sitting, as it may time out if left idle.
What should I do if I requested a physical book for a class but received a digital copy instead?

Our 2-day in-person pre-licensing classes include:

Yes! Insurance School of Texas offers continuing education (CE) courses for licensed insurance professionals. Our CE courses are designed to help agents meet their Texas continuing education requirements and stay current with their licensing obligations.
How do I complete my continuing education requirements in Texas?
Licensed Texas insurance agents must complete the required CE hours before renewing their license.
To complete your CE requirements:
- Enroll in approved CE courses through an authorized provider.
- Complete the required coursework and any required exams or assessments.
- Keep your course completion records for your files.
- Verify your CE requirements have been satisfied before submitting your license renewal.
Does Insurance School of Texas report my CE hours to the state?
No. Insurance School of Texas does not directly report completed CE hours to the Texas Department of Insurance on behalf of students.
After completing a CE course, students are responsible for ensuring their CE completion is properly submitted and reflected with the state before renewing their license.
What should I do after completing my CE courses?
After completing your CE courses:
- Retain your certificate of completion for your records.
- Confirm your CE credits have been properly applied toward your renewal requirements.
- Complete your license renewal through the Texas Department of Insurance before your renewal deadline.
